About the Author: Sharon Brenner is the creator of the website Records in the Den. Her work has been published in zines and digital publications including Compound Butter, Peddler Journal, Life & Thyme, Ambrosia, DRIFT, Chickpea Magazine and more. She teaches cooking classes at 18 Reasons, a San Francisco-based, community-focused cooking school, and runs a monthly cookie pop-up that has collaborated with creative hubs such as dublab, Now Serving, MOCA, Virgil Normal, Acid Free LA’s Art Book Market, Humble Ceramics, Compound Butter, Dine for Democracy and more. She also recently founded the dining series Athena Dinners to be held at Marta Gallery in LA.
Sharon previously lived in Athens from 2014 - 2017 and has been regularly visiting Greece since 2011. She is also an immigration lawyer, focusing primarily on artistic and creative clientele. Sharon has spoken on the topic at SXSW, c/o pop, Nova Scotia Music Week, Sonar+D, the American Film Institute, SFMusicTech Summit, shesaid.so and more. She also previously worked at the International Rescue Committee among other refugee-based assistance organizations. In addition to her JD, Sharon holds B.A. degrees in African History and International Relations from UC Davis.
